Horse Importation

We can help you with the importation of Friesians, Warmbloods, Andalusians, Lusitano's, Lippizaners, Haflingers, Gypsy (Tinker) pony's, Sportpony's etc.etc. Europe is filled with wonderful, talented, quality, well bred horses, which makes that we are always able to find a very good selection of horses that all match your wishes. And which will almost always guarantee that you will find what you are looking for! Selections are made, completely based on your own personal wishes, such as: Breed, Discipline and level of training, Age, Gender, Color, Price range etc. We will only select horses, that already have a recent, and good X-ray rapport *. We only want to select and offer the best quality horses, in terms of health, character and breeding lines. Buying a horse, will always bring a minor risk to itself, and we want to minimize the risk factor to as low as possible. And make this exciting journey the best one for every of our clients!

* When we are making a selection of horses under age of 3, there is an exception on the X-rays. This because horses of that age don't have an X-ray rapport. Of course it is possible to have X-rays taken, when there is a horse of interest.

We will be happy to guide you through the whole process that comes along with importing a horse from Europe, as we have a lot of experience with the importing process ourselves. From selecting as many horses that match your wishes, to have you come over to Europe to see and try out all the selected horses after we made arrangements with the sellers. And help you through every little step that is required before 'your' horse can fly over. You can even fly over with your own horse!! We will arrange everything in terms of blood tests, clinical exams with a qualified veterinarian, transport to the airport, the flight for your horse (and yourself if needed), quarantine in the USA, and transport for your horse from the airport to the final destination if needed.

Since we have a lot of experience with working with horses, and are very familiar a lot of breeds, we would be more then happy to advise you in your wishes, to make sure you will end up with the right horse for you. It is very important for us, to spend enough time with each of our clients, as we want our clients to be happy with their horses for a very long time!!

Of course we can also assist finding good quality horses for bigger organizations, such as for breeding and sales yards in the USA.

How does it work?

If you are seriously interested, in our services:

You can fill out the form on our website, and we will contact you as soon as possible after we received your information. We charge a 20 pound (35 dollar) starting fee *, because we like to spend our time only on clients that are seriously trying to find and import a horse through us. We want to offer our clients the best possible, and spend our precious time only on serious clients.

* This is a one time fee, and will/ cannot be refunded, even if a client decides halfway in the process to not pursue, and is purely to cover a small bit of time being lost if clients do decide not to pursue.

As soon as we have received your payment and your personal wishes regarding the horse(s) you are looking for, we will start working on your personal selection of horses. We will keep you informed about all the information we collect. Of course you may adjust your wishes at any time during the process. By the time a selection is made and approved by you, we can go to the next step.

Maybe you are fine about buying a horse from abroad, unseen, but there is of course an option for you to come over, and see/try the horses in real life!! If this is desired, we can book a hotel for you. Our Dutch agent, will pick you up from the airport, and get you from place to place (if horses are located in the Netherlands), to make sure you have plenty of time to see and try out all the horses. And even go to the final favorites, for a second time, to do another try out. Our Dutch agent, will assist in the conversations and agreements between buyer and seller, and can translate everything that is needed. Clinical examination can be arranged by us, by the time a final decision has been made. When the horse is purchased, we can help arrange the blood testing and make sure the horse has all the right papers to go on the flight. Also horse transportation to the airport can be arranged through us if desired. As soon as this is done, we will book the horse in for the flight. We can even arrange for you to fly over with your own horse!! This makes everything even more special, and it gives you the opportunity to already connect with your new horse, when you are both in the air! If horses are selected in other parts of Europe, such as Germany and Belgium, our agent will take you there by car. But also other parts of Europe are definitely part of the possibilities, such as Spain (Lusitano's and Andalusians), Sweden (Swedish Warmbloods), Austria (Lippizaners) and United Kingdom (Warmbloods, Sporthorses, Thoroughbreds etc). Of course this will bring more costs to it, since flights, hotels, car rental etc, are required when we will take our clients out of the Netherlands.

We have very good connections with breeders and trainers in Holland, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain and Spain, and because of that we are always able to show you a big selection of the best quality horses that are offered for sale!! We only work together with honest and trustable people, since we want our clients to get the best horse that matches with their needs and wishes.

All horses fly from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, and will all have to have blood tests done and will have to have a health -certification, before they can fly. Please keep in mind, for horses purchased out of the Netherlands, the costs will be higher since transportation to Schiphol is required. Also the costs for blood testing and the health certificates, may turn out to be higher in other parts of Europe.

For transport in the USA, from the airport to the desired destination, we can make connections with a good and trusted transportation company, since we have an agent in the USA as well. This to make sure that also after the flight and quarantine, everything will go according to plan, until you have your horse at 'home'.

Quarantine in LA:

For every horse:

3 day standard quarantine (arrivals on Tuesday and Wednesday) $ 1850 (mares & stallions under age 2, and geldings any age)

3 day standard quarantine (arrival on Friday) $ 1950 (mares & stallions under age 2, and geldings any age)

Plus for mares and stallions over age 2:

14 day CEM quarantine costs at UC Davis for mares - $ 1955 30 day CEM quarantine costs at UC Davis for stallions - $ 4950

Transportation costs from LA quarantine centre to destination:

This will vary between about $ 600 and $1000 a horse, but can be higher, depending on the destination the horse is going to.
